2nd Ed. Toledo CellulArt 2018

"The second edition of Toledo CellulART, (a meeting that brings together the art and scientific communities in the Midwest area to appreciate the link between art and science while also promoting collaboration, interaction, and discussion between researchers working with the cytoskeleton."
  • When? Friday, September 14th, 2018 at the University of Toledo’s Center for the Visual Arts – designed by the world-renowned architect, Frank O. Gehry, attached to the Toledo Museum of Art.
  • What should you expect? The day will consist of presentations selected from submitted abstracts and poster sessions for both undergraduate and graduate researchers. 
  • Keynote Speaker: Dr. Kenneth Yamada
  • Scientist-Artist Talk: Dr. Edna Cukierman

  • To Register for Talks
    The abstracts must be submitted with your registration no later than August 4th, 2018.
  • To Register for Posters
    Abstracts must be submitted no later than  August 11th, 2018. 
  • Image Competition
    All attendees of Toledo CellulART 2018 are encouraged to submit an artistic research image by August 4th, 2018. Please visit our website for more information and guidelines.

  • In the first edition of Toledo CellulART, we had 90 participants from 16 regional universities, and others. The event featured Dr. Keith Burridge as the keynote speaker, and Dr. Dylan Burnette, who gave a stimulating talk with stunning images, and also displayed his art on canvas and scarves.
  • This year, art students from the University of Toledo are also planning to work on re-imagining some of our microscopy pictures into different art pieces.
